Who we are
This website is published by Abu Hurera LLC. We created it because the Florida property tax system is fair in principle but confusing in practice. Owners receive a TRIM notice in August, a tax bill in November, and exemption forms with deadlines that are easy to miss, and the information explaining it all is spread across several agencies and hundreds of pages of statutes.
Our goal is simple: explain how property records, values, exemptions, appeals and taxes work in Orange County, in plain English, and point you to the official office that can act on your situation.
What we are not
We are not the Orange County Property Appraiser's Office, the Orange County Tax Collector, the Orange County Comptroller, the Value Adjustment Board, Orange County Government or any other government agency. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any of them. We cannot look up your records, accept exemption applications, change a value, take payments or give legal, tax or financial advice.
For official records and filings, use the official Property Appraiser website. For bills and payments, use the official Tax Collector.
How we research and write
- Primary sources first. We base our guides on the Florida Constitution, Florida Statutes, Florida Department of Revenue guidance and forms, and information published by Orange County agencies.
- Plain language. We define every technical term and use worked examples with clearly labeled illustrative numbers.
- Evergreen, with care. Exemption amounts, income limits and procedures change. Where a figure changes regularly, we say so and tell you where to confirm the current number.
- No official branding. We do not use government seals or imitate official websites.
